Affiliate & AdSense Websites
This is an example of how you would pull all the
passive income
techniques into a website to make an income generating machine.
- Create a website about a topic you know about and are interested in. Give away lots of free information, which will attract links and traffic. Put ads on it from sponsors.
Search through LinkShare
and
Commission Junction for related affiliate programs to promote.
- Hire people to write content for the site (pay them once, reap benefits forever - a form of leveraged income)
- Solicit user-submitted content. On my beading site I set up a gallery where people could submit pictures and descriptions of jewelry that they've made. That's a new page for every submission: free content! More content means more search engine traffic, more ad clicks, and more income.
- Recommend books that people can buy through Amazon (Join Amazon.com Associates
), and get affiliate commissions from each sale (even for other products people buy that they find after clicking through your link). Find other affiliate programs that relate to your topic. I promote a beading magazine, a gemstone store, and several bead supply companies and get commission checks when people buy from them.
- Create a specialized directory where you link to related websites. Charge yearly or monthly for a listing (recurring income) or require a reciprocal link (helps build your traffic by boosting your PageRank). Create a whole page for each listing and you're also generating more free content!
- Use your site as a platform for selling recurring services and/or products like ebooks.
Once you build traffic, you will be making money every month whether you work on the site or not.
That's the most passive of income!
